Swap Rather Than Shop

I’ll admit it…sometimes the idea of taking all those used baby and kids clothes to the consignment shop seems time consuming and overwhelming. After bagging up all of the clothes and trekking to the shop, I cross my fingers that the merchant will take at least half of them. I then make a second trip to the local thrift store to off-load the rest.

I really do love consignment shops. It’s where I buy most of my children’s clothes and I understand that in order to buy the clothes, someone must make the effort to provide them. Got it. I’m just looking for additional time and cost-saving options.

I’m thrilled to have discovered an alternative solution. Last night at the See Jane Do Soiree into Action I met Meg Franz. Meg is the founder of Peace Love Swap. Her mission is to “keep gently used baby, kid, and maternity items out of our landfills, and to donate to local charities by hosting fun, affordable, family friendly swaps where moms and dads can exchange their unwanted and/or outgrown items with other local parents” She makes it simple and easy to get rid of the old and bring in the new.

Meg encourages everyone to bring their gently used baby, kid, teen or maternity clothes. Following, you can acquire other good stuff your kids might want to wear. And it’s a free exchange! Get rid of what you don’t want and take what you need.
