Mary Elizabeth Young: Keeping Your Dreams Alive

1. What is your passion or purpose you are being called to bring into action right now?

My passion is to inspire people, especially women, to find the treasure within them and share it with the world. We all have amazing gifts and talents and each of us has a special light inside that the world needs right now.

Creating a vision for one’s life and creating a plan for it is something I have always been passionate about. We are given this one life to live and I want to inspire women to live as fully as possible.

I am writing a memoir entitled “Finding Your Light in the Dark” which inspires readers that no matter what happens in life, we can always find a way to live our dreams.

In November 2012 I am leading a workshop called “Finding Your Light” in which participants will deeply experience their essence and bring it fully into their life and world.

2. What were the motivating factors or defining moments that inspired you to get involved and share your passion?

I went to a personal growth seminar several years ago that focused on women and acknowledged what women bring to the world; our ability to be multi-sensory and have awareness of what is needed for our children, families, communities and world all at the same time. Maybe this comes from our genetic makeup when as gatherers of foodstuffs and herbs we could focus on this task, but also be aware of where our children were and if any predators were nearby. Now, we can be caring for our loved ones, working, contributing to our community and world almost simultaneously and not think twice about it. It struck me what an underutilized resource women are. If we were truly valued and seen for what we bring to life, how could so many of the problems in this world be solved?

3. What is your mantra or favorite quote you refer to when you seek inspiration or hope and why?

“The reason for all challenges is so that you can finally learn that none are bigger than you.” The Universe We all have challenges in life and we can either see them as obstacles or opportunities. When I am faced with some difficulty, I look inside to see the learning opportunity in it for

me. I ask myself why this situation has come into my life and what wisdom can come from this. A breakdown can either stop me, or be used to expand my consciousness. I am committed to learning and growing, to finding the gold in every challenge and to a life of joy and peace. Every challenge can be seen as a possibility for choosing happiness rather than suffering.

4. Tell us about a moment recently when you were standing in your full power and purpose?

I made a commitment to fulfilling a dream I’ve had for three years. When committing to it, I had no idea how or even if it would happen, I just knew I had to tell myself and a dear friend that I was having the fulfillment of this dream. It would take a miracle for this to happen.

I realized that it was time to move. My children were grown and gone; my home was too big and too expensive for me to live in. By downsizing, this would give me the finances and the freedom to manifest my dream. But to rent my home, there was so much maintenance needed to get it ready. Out of nowhere, I received a call from someone who was thrilled with an offer I made to rent it, and they were willing to move into the house “as is” and do all of the maintenance themselves. They are even going to buy my furniture so I don’t have to move it. This was a miracle even beyond my wildest dreams.

My purpose is to live the life of my dreams and to inspire others to do the same. There are unseen forces available to bring all the good we are wanting in our lives. Our job is to open to receiving all of these blessings and miracles.

5.Why is the work you are doing so important for everyday women?

We all want to live a life with heart and meaning. Whether it is focusing on making our dreams come true or making it through a challenging time in our lives, inspiration and encouragement is so important. I know I am here to bring that inspiration and encouragement to everyone I meet.

6. Why is it so important for women to participate in an event like the Passion into Action Conference?

Whenever women come together, something wonderful happens. We inspire one another with who we are and what each of us is doing with our lives. This coming together has us look deeper inside for what we are committed to and what we can bring forth from ourselves that would create a better world for all.

7. What are you hoping will be the biggest take-aways for women both at the Passion into Action Conference and your workshop?

My intention is to inspire each woman who comes to my workshop to get in touch with their deepest dreams and desires for themselves and their world. Once we touch that place in ourselves, we naturally begin to see how we can bring those dreams and desires into reality. I also want each woman to realize there is base of support and encouragement from other women; you don’t have to do it alone. Together we can make magic happen!

8. What is your message to women around the world?

We stand at a point in history where life as we know it can change dramatically; we can choose a world where there is difficulty, or we can choose to thrive. As the nourishers of life, I believe women are the key to a life of thriving. We see the big picture, making sure there is food on the table, clean and safe living environments, health and education, relationships that bring out the best in people, value and purpose to everyday living, a connection to a power that sustains all life and appreciation and celebration for all we hold dear. It is time for us to hear the call from life; to take action to protect her and create a world that is thriving. It is time for every woman to find within herself her own right action, the one that feels right to her and the one that makes all the difference.
