Elisa Parker with Monica Farbiarz of Encanto Jewels: Creating a Caring Economy One Woman at a Time

“We can create a different economy.  Don’t be afraid to be yourself, to sing your voice, to be you completely.” ~Monica Farbiarz, Owner and Founder of Encanto Jewels

When Monica Farbiarz traveled to Colombia in 2006, she had no idea that she, a dancer, musician and yoga instructor, would fall so quickly in love with the Tagua seed, a material that would inspire a full time jewelry-designing business.

She immediately found a workshop that offered her the perfect combination of quality production and fair labor practices, and enrolled in a business class to prepare for the inevitable commerce.

By 2007, she was ready to share her creations with the world, and now she’s devoted to providing women with beautiful Tagua jewelry, all while helping her workers achieve their dreams.
