See Jane Do was invited by the grassroots peace and social justice organization CodePink to cover their annual Mother’s Day Event: Women for Peace held in front of the White House in Washington DC. The 24-hour vigil celebrates all mothers and women and honors the original Mother’s Day Proclamation made by Julia Ward Howe in 1870 following the devastation of the US Civil War calling for an end to war. Along with hundreds of women we created a quilt spanning over a hundred feet and read “We Will Not Raise Our Children to Kill Another Mother’s Child.”
